Shock G, Rapper and founder of the band Digital Underground has passed away at 57 years old. Gregory Jacobs, known professionally as Shock G (and his alter ego Humpty Hump), was an American musician, rapper, and lead vocalist for the Hip Hop band Digital Underground. Shock G was Instrumental to incorporating funk into the mainstream sounds of Hip Hop. The often rambunctious and jovial rapper is also credited for bringing 2 Pac to the forefront of music.
Shock's death comes on the heals of tragic losses of DMX and Black Rob earlier this month. At this time the cause of death has not been revealed. His alter ego "Humpty Hump was a media darling in the 90's. He was most famously known for his hit song, "The Humpty Dance." The single would peak at # 7 on the Hot R&B and Hip Hop Billboard charts. Digital Underground also had popular songs such as "Kiss You Back" and "Doowutchyalike".
