Rapper Black Rob has passed away. Robert Ross (born July 12, 1969), known professionally as Black Rob, was an American rapper who was formerly signed to Bad Boy Records. Recently surfaced videos of Black Rob in a hospital bed caused great concern. Rob seemed to be much more frail than in previous years. Black Rob was dealing with ailments in his kidneys and in interviews past spoke on his condition.
"My nephrotic syndrome [an illness in which the kidneys are damaged, causing them to leak large amounts of protein from the blood into the urine] is good. I'm talking to you right now. I've been performing, I've been the illest show, and these n----s been out here!" Rob was quoted as saying in an article in Theboombox.com from 2011.
Black Rob is most known for his smash Rap hit "Whoa!" which dominated the Rap charts in 2000. "Whoa!" reached the Top 10 on the R&B and Rap Charts. It just narrowly missed a Top 40 spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
