2021 has been a rough year for T.I., but amidst several allegations levied against him and his wife, the rapper is planning to ceremoniously retire and bow out of the game. The self-proclaimed King of the South announced that Kill The King will be his final album. The announcement came at the end of the video for his new single, “What it’s Come To.” The video also makes reference to the allegations and situation the artist finds himself in. These of course, are allegations that T.I. and his wife have vehemently denied.
Even though the title of TIP’s retirement album seems fittingly for his issues today, the ATL rapper actually talked about this back in 2017. During an interview with The Breakfast Club TIP states, “I’m ready to get the hell outta [the rap game],” he said. “I got this next album, I got three albums in my head I’ve already conceptualized. Once I get them out, I’m done.” His last project, the L.I.B.R.A., the 11th studio album in his catalog, was released in October 2021.
Fans will no doubt still be on the lookout for Kill The King, while The King will no doubt look to clear his name expeditiously.
