On a recent visit to the Breakfast Club, West Coast legend Ice Cube gives an update on the many things he has going on including Big 3 Basketball and a potential Verzuz battle. Cube also goes into detail on West Coast supergroup Mount Westmore and his Contract with Black America. “We getting our ducks in a row,” Cube said around the 18-minute mark when pressed about a potential Mt. Westmore album release date. “When we did Fight Club Triller, we had a lot of opportunities coming at us and we had to kind of sift through them and see what was the best route. I believe we figured it out so we getting cocked and loaded. We getting our visuals together because when we hit, we want to keep rolling.”
Cube also confirmed that Dr. Dre would appear on the Mount Westmore project, but in a rapping capacity. In an odd statement he mentions that he did not know if the good Dr. provided any production on the project. Cube states, “He rapped on it for sure. [Dre’s] definitely on the verse, but I’m not sure if he gave us any production.”
In the Breakfast Club interview Ice Cube also discusses his Contract with Black America. He talks about wanting to get more real concrete things done, but does admit later that there has been progress. He explains, “We’ve got some interesting things we’re going to announce as soon as they develop. I just want to take it away from all the noise being made and really get some concrete things done, instead of all this talk and trolling back and forth.” Fans can rest assure there are more things to come from both of these topics and the other things Cube has going on.
