The ever-popular NBA 2K gaming franchise is taking another step to keep fans clamoring for the next edition of their game. Sources are reporting that NBA 2K22 will feature a Hip Hop career option when the game is released in September. As far as details go, there is not much known about the feature. What is known is that users will have the option for their created player to pursue a career in Hip Hop or fashion.
This should be a good addition for fans as some have criticized the franchise for not making enough changes to the game over the last few years. It makes sense that creators would incorporate the popular music genre more into game features. Hip Hop continues to be a dominant genre of music and the NBA 2K franchise is undoubtably hoping to cash in on that popularity just like so many others outside of the culture have done in the past.
Hip Hop and the NBA aren’t a crazy pairing as basketball players and Hip Hop have always been linked. The NBA 2K franchise also includes Hip Hop as a heavy part of its soundtrack each year. Jay-Z even executive produced music for the 2013 version of the game. As of now, reports are that the feature will only be available for the PlayStation 5 and X-Box Series X. NBA 2K22 is tentatively scheduled to be released September 10, 2021.
