Last night at the URL NOME XI Battle Rap Event, Drake teased fans once again about his upcoming Certified Lover Boy (CLB) album. “Oh yeah, I’ll be there. My album will be out by then.”, he said when someone mentions that the album would be out at the end of the summer. Other than that, there was no confirmation on a specific date. CLB will serve as a follow up to Drake’s 2018 double album Scorpion. The album was supposed to be released in January, but was pushed back due to a knee injury. The Canadian rapper gave fans a 3 piece in March when he dropped Scary Hours 2.
CLB wasn’t the main topic last night as Drake was in attendance for the URL battle rap event. He even put up an additional $50k funding to the pot, basically upping the ante for Geechi Gotti vs. Rum Nitty. A few years ago, Drake was supposed to battle Murda Mook but ultimately declined the match up. Drake and Mook were spotted last night chopping it up. Drake even went to IG afterwards and posted a pic of the two, captioning it with, "Me and @murdamookez talking shit about our bars for the battle that never happened," Drizzy captioned the photo. "Woulda smoked you." Drake does have a history with battle rap and is still heavily involved in the battle rap community. Maybe we’ll see him actually battle someone down the line.
