The BET Awards is set to air live on BET tonight (June 27th) from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. This year’s show has a “Year of the Black Woman” theme and Taraji P. Henson is set to host. Henson states, "This year in particular, we're honoring Black women," she said before raving that young black and brown girls have a large selection of successful women to look up to like politician and activist Stacey Abrams and historic Vice President Kamala Harris. "I'm such a girls' girl. I love to uplift women." 

Some of the performers tonight include: Megan Thee Stallion, Andra Day, DJ Khaled, H.E.R., Kirk Franklin, Lil Baby, Moneybagg Yo and more. DaBaby and Megan Thee Stallion lead nominations with each getting seven nods. They are followed by Drake and Cardi B., who each have 5 nods. Special honors will go to Queen Latifah as she is set to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions to music and pop culture. Swizz Beats is also set to curate a special tribute to the late DMX, who passed earlier this year. Busta Rhymes and Method Man are also rumored to be a part of the DMX tribute. 

The show will air live tonight at 8 pm EST/PST on BET, with simulcasts on BET HER, LOGO, MTV, MTV2, TV Land and VH1. There will also be a preshow airing hosted by Terrance J. and Tanisha Long.
