XXXTENTACION’s former manager and his estate, run by his mother, are planning to release new music from the late rapper on Monday, May 10th via NFT. This move puts the rapper among many others putting their music into the NFT virtual fan experience marketplace. An NFT or non-fungible token is similar to a form of cryptocurrency that allows fans to have a sort of digital collectible card that gives them access to new music and exclusive performances. Utilizing blockchain, these NFTs are unable to be broken down and sold in smaller pieces, making the exclusivity of the highly curated experience a major selling point.
Joining the ranks of Lil Yachty, Soulja Boy, ASAP Rocky and so many more, the XXX NFT will feature 5 tracks that have not been commercially released and never before seen concert footage. According to his manager, Solomon ‘Sounds’ Sobande, the tracks aren’t new but they’re no longer available on Soundcloud and were never monetized. The artwork was created by artist Stephen Bliss of the Grand Theft Auto Video game, a favorite of the late rapper.
You can preorder XXXTENTACION's NFT now or wait for the official limited-time sale to begin Monday, May 10th at 12pm EST. A percentage of the proceeds will go to the XXXfoundation charity.
